History of School
Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati, the founder of Arya Samaj had laid a great emphasis on the propagation of education. Maharishi Dayanand Adarsh Vidyalaya, founded in the year 1972 as a Primary school, working on similar lines is carrying forward the mission of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati . The school was upgraded to the Middle standard in the year 1987 and to the Tenth standard in 1991. MDAV school is recognized by U.T Administration and is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education , New Delhi.
Late Smt. Vidyavati Chopra, Late Smt. Shanti Khosla, Late Smt. Kailash Bhalla, Late Sh. Jawahar Lal Khosla, Late Sh. Dharamvir Kapoor, Late Sh. G.B.R. Bhalla, Late Smt. Luxmi Aggarwal and the other prominent believers of basic Arya Samaj tenets in seventies took upon themselves to establish an institution to serve the purpose of spreading education. They gave their valuable time as well as money to the school open heartedly. Late Smt. Luxmi Arya became the founder Principal who devoted her whole life to this great institution and served the school till she took her last breath in 2000.
Serving the society with zeal for more than four decades, the school has come a long way, growing and evolving with its students since the time it began with 4 students in 1972. At present the school has 23 sections and is providing education from Pre Nursery to X standard. Currently the school is in the able hands of Shri Nirmal Khosla, who is the Chairman of the Srimand Dayanand Bal Vidyalaya Educational Society, the parent body which runs the school. Shri Vinod Kapoor is the Chairman of the school managing committee. Dr Ram Parkash, Dr Vikram Viveki and Dr. Vasundhra Rehani are the prominent educationists who guide the school to progress forward in the right direction. Today the school is counted as a prominent institution in the city beautiful.
